Tire Chains?
i'd get some chains and just keep them in the back of the cab. just in case kind of thing. i got some good snow tires that i use and some sandbags and never had any problems. passed trucks doing 55. course i do have the good ole 4x4 not just a 2x4. just make sure you put the chains on the back tires. not the front ones. they will only do any good on the drive wheels. kinda thing everyone already knows, but just needs to be said anyway.
the wood block thing would help too. but the bags add traction to the front wheels too if you have them in front of the wheel wells. and mine ususally end up there anyway. good for the 4x4er's.
anything is going to be better than the A/T tires.
