ok well im going to need to upgrade my front brake rotors to a high perfomance one so i can brake better anyone know of a good kind that well help stop my 35s beside a full brake upgrade.

 

Bendix severe duty slotted rotors, and a set of Duralast Gold carbon/metallic pads. A good pad and rotor combo that work VERY well together. I personally avoid cross drilled unless it is the setup where the rotor has 5 or 6 slots, and only 3 holes between each slot. That is a nice setup, IF, it's ordered in the severe/heavy duty version. The rotors with the "swiss cheese" look can tolerate heat, but now you have about 10,000 times the surface area for corrosion to set in. And in heavy brake applications, they have been know to warp as bad as unslotted/cross rotors. And one good salty winter speeds up the corrosion process.........lol. Just be more educated when you go to the parts store. Most if the time they assume slotted/crossed ARE heavy duty. Not necessarily.

The trick to Dodge Ram brakes is keeping the bushings and slider pins greased well. I do my truck three times a year.

If you're looking for improved braking, you should definitely look into upgrading your rear wheel cylinders

 

i have SSBC's rear discs on my truck and they friggen rock.. all their stuff is awesome quality.. and on top of that they are only like 20 mins away from me.. so your buyin good ole' NY quality


on my fronts i have the crossdrilled rotors from summitracing .. they are the SR's brand cheepo's that were on clearence a month or so ago.. 50 bux a peice.. and got some EBC green stuff pads.. the combo is "ok" .. wish i would have done 2 things different .. 1;;; bought better brand rotors,, 2::: bedded in the brakes correctly..

they stop great.. its just tha tsince i live in the salt belt during the winter i shouldnt be expecting long life out of these rotors.. i might go slotted next time or just some OEM style napa replacements.. that pads rock!!! no brake dust.. which is nice on my new alumm rims!

 

I have replaced my brakes and the wifes{2002 gand am} with MORSE-CERAMIC. No faults yet. and alot cleaner rims. now i need to wash her rims off. MAYBE some day i will get the old brake dust off of her hub caps.

 

I have looked all over the internet and have been unable to find these upgraded rear wheel cylinders - Anyone know where you can get these for my 01 4X4?

turkeyhunter, the cylinders are spec'd for a '90s GM 1 ton. I used the '95 GM 1 ton dually 4x4 spec at the parts store. They just have a bigger bore. Cost about $11 each.
