HELP! grinding sound when i step on my brake

Default HELP! grinding sound when i step on my brake

i have a 1996 ram 1500 4x4 and when ever i step on the brake it sounds like something is grinding in the front right part of my truck i was thinking maby a rotor but im not really sure

Or your pads, but I can guarantee you if you don't take care if it now, it will be your rotors for sure. If you can see your rotors with your wheel on, just take a careful look at it. Otherwise, jack up the front end and remove the tire and take a good look at it.

After your truck has been sitting for a few hours, if you can reach through your rim a run your finger across the disk. It will probably already feel really rough due to the grinding and will only get worse the longer you do not replace the pads. I say after your truck has sat for a few hours, because even sitting as long as an hour your disk can still be hot enough to burn your hand. Like dodgerules86 said, if you wait too long and you may have already, it will mean repalcing the pads and the disks.
