Don't quote me but I am pretty sure that any hydroboost unit from a 97' & up 2500/3500 can be used. By no pedal, do you mean a super hard pedal to stop the truck, or the brakes aren't applying correctly? If recently, you had to slam on your brakes for any reason, you may have ruptured an o-ring in the mc. If you changed it, I would double check the bleeding process just to be sure. Rams can be pretty tricky to bleed. Sometimes you have to hold this open, or depress this valve first. And it is certainly not out of the question to have a component in the brake system, fail. Like an antilock valve, metering valve, etc.

Check your ps fluid also. I think we use the same Saginaw series ps pumps. Check to see if there are any metal chunks or filings. There is a magne in the reservoir but you would have to remove the pump to see it. Could be a ps pump problem, and a microscopic piece is stuck in the hydroboost unit. You can take the lines off the hydroboost, and blow shop air through both ports. 90lbs is fine, doesn't hurt anything. You should be able to blow air in one port, and have it shoot out the other one. Either port, either way. There should be no restrictions.

And just FYI, if you're handy with a wrench, a hydroboost unit is pretty simple to rebuild. About a 1 hour job. I won't even guess what a dealership would charge for one.......LOL. You get it in the dirtchute either way.

Good luck to ya.

THANKS FOR THE INFO. BY NO PEDAL, I MEAN THE PEDAL GO RIGHT TO THE FLOOR WHEN I START THE TRUCK-BUT WHEN THE TRUCK IS OFF, I DEPRESS THE BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES AND THE PEDAL IS "RIGHT THERE" LIKE NOTHING IS WRONG. START THE TRUCK AGAIN AND THE PEDAL GOES RIGHT TO THE FLOOR. I CAN NOT FIND A BROKE LINE OR ANY OTHER LEAK, SO I THOUGHT THE MC WAS THE CAUSE AND REPLACED IT. BRAKES STILL ACT THE SAME?

If the pedal is like a rock when the truck is off, and then goes soft as it travels to the floor, ... my guess is the hydroboost IS working. The pedal softens up because the ps fluid is now doing most of the work.

Again, I am not real familiar with the newer year trucks. But our hydroboost units are pretty much the same. I would truly look at bleeding them again. Somewhere on this site is a downloadable factory manual. Check that and see if your metering/proportioning valve has to be manipulated when bleeding the brakes. I suspect a lot of air somewhere. Air is compressable, brake fluid is not.

And one more question, and by no means am I being sarcastic. Your truck does have a hydroboost unit and NOT just a vacuum booster, correct?

Good luck.
