Is there anyone at all in NJ...
who understands Dodge Ram transmissions? I've searched here with regard to my shifting hesitation problem from 1st to 2nd, and the most likely contributors are: (1) Wrong type of transmission fluid used by Aamco, (2) Bands need adjustment and (3) TV cable need adjustment. I've tried to convey this information to the dullards at Aamco, but they think they know everything. As far as their (on) crack tech reps are concerned, their diagnosis reveals no problems with my transmission. Yet, even my wife can feel the problem. I don't have the time or tools to fix the problem, and I can't seem to find anyone who really has a clue about Dodge tranny's. Anyone? Thanks.
RUN, do not walk, as fast as you can AWAY from AAMCO. Find an independent tranny shop. You'll get a better job.
.......... and, nope, there is no one at all in NJ. You are the last living cell in a dead body there ..................

Bummer. I was afraid of that. Seems like there are car tuners out the wazoo in NJ, but no one who knows dodge tranny's worth a crap.

on the tranny side note.. id take it to a well known shop in your area.. AAMCO has been know to do nothing good except cause havoc and hell on their customers.. wish you woulda came here first before you went there so we coulda steered ya away from them!!! them certified techs at AAMCO get their certification out of a cereal box..
just open your local fone book and start calling around to local car shops and ask them who they would suggest for tranny work.. thats what i did and i ended up having my tranny replaced by a dude that went to highschool with my uncle.. did me right and its running strong ever since!
Thanks for the advice. I'll call the mechanic I use for everything else. AFter the last comment, I have visions of some dork wearing an Aamco shirt with an overjoyed look on his face after having finally pulled his certification out of a box of Nuts N' Bits.
Now if I had a Honda with a big wing on the back and a coffee can sized exhaust pipe, I would have no trouble at all finding someone to work on that.
