Soft ticking noise from under hood
It sounds like theres a soft ticking noise comin from underneath my hood anytime I step on the gas. Can't hear it at idle, can't hear it when I'm coasting, only when accelerating. Now I've only began to hear this noise recently when I've had to drive with my windows up (getting cold). I did install the FIPK this summer. Could that noise be the normal functioning noise of the FIPK, or could it be something else?

Probably just your lifters and valve clatter. I ran some Marvel Mystery Oil through mine and quited it right up.

Or a small exhaust leak. With it running at idle carefully run your hand around the exhaust manifolds and feel for a pulse of air. Then feel around the collectors where they bolt to the exhaust manifold.

I don't know too much about trucks yet but the spot your talking about, is that like where the pipes from the cat meet the engine?
