Default 1st time Dodge question

Just a quick hello, first time dodge owner here, look forward to many years to come. Anyways, I was wondering just what it takes to remove the upper balljoints on a 94 1500 2wd Ram? I did the lowers, the shocks, sway bar end links, and my father said he didn't want me to to the uppers. So, like an idiot, I didn't, and now the alignment shop can't put an alignment on the truck[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@] So, I get to do work that should have been done once all over again, JOY!!!!! Anyways, the lowers were the originals, and they were tack welded in place. Are the uppers easier to remove/install? It took about 10 tons to press in the lowers, and I REALLY don't want to have to remove the upper control arms. Can i just remove the nut and use a drift pin and pop them out of the upper control arm and then pound the new ones in? Any help would be greatly appreciated guys, thanks in advance.

All you should need is a ball joint press. Auto stores usually rent them out.

No, I didn't need the 10 ton press to remove them. I have a press at my parents house, BUT, I didn't have the proper "bit" to press them in to the control arm with. So my dad took the control arm to the local Napa and they said it took 10 tons to get them in. Probabally exaggerating as even when I'm pressing in wheel bearings, I don't think that my 20 ton press is at half force getting them in, can't imagine a balljoint requiring more pressure. But, this is my first venture into truckhood, so who knows, damn truck is HUGE compared to a car. Yeah, I used a dremel to cut the welds and then just pounded them out with an automotive hammer. Thanks for the info Burning Rom, much appreciated. I'm gonna pick up a ball joint press on my way home, it basically looks like a modified C Clamp to me with a socket instead of that little swivel thing.
