Underdrive pulleys won't help much off the line. For the same amount of money you could get an electric fan setup off ebay. That will help alot on low end since your clutch fan spins more at low rpms than at high rpms.

I have March alum 3pc u/d pulleys
Crank is the only one that is smaller, water pump and alt are bigger.
If you have a large stereo I would not suggest the 3pc pulleys as you wont have enough power. Occassionally having to go into neutral at stop lights and keeping rpms at 1000 or higher to keep the battery from discharging (L/D alt)

As far as the comparison for u/d pulleys and fans go.
3 pc oulleys give more et reduction than fans will.

On the dragstrip the fans only really helped out of the hole and did nothing once rolling.

Average et reductions on my truck dropped by
.12 seconds for March 3pc alum pulleys
.08 seconds for Flexalite fans with viscous removed

Want to improve performance off the line than get a higher stall torque convertor. I would suggest 2500 to 2800rpm stall. It will give better shifts as well

If you are looking in to robbing less HP you should probably start with that huge metal fan mounted to the front of your truck that could easily have been installed on a dozer...

Switch it out for a smaller electric unit and save...

HP saved is HP gained...
