Default brake lights and turn signals

Hello everyone I have a problem with my 1996 dodge ram 1500. My brake lights and turn signals have stopped working. The taillights and the 3rd brake light still work. It just started tonight so i haven't had time to check it out. Just wonted to see if anyone else has had the problem? Thanks in advanced

hasnt happend to me.. but check the fuzes first off.. if there blown..somewhere theres a short causing these to blow.. could be your headlight switch..they have been known to overheat and fail.. but since your blinkers arnt working.. are your front turn signals working/front parking lights working? or is it JUST the rear? do your 4ways work too?

turn signals or 4 ways are not working front or rear Ill make sure to check those fuses. Everthing else on the headlight switch is working bright and dim and the winshield wipers. just no turn signals or brake lights. my 4 ways have acted up since i have gotten it but first time this has happened. thanks for the fast reply.

Try a new flasher, probably about time to change it anyway if it hasn't been already. I had problems with the turnsignal switch. Traced the problem to the switch, tore it apart- didn't see anything wrong, put it back together and it works. I don't know, must be F.M.
