Default RACE FUEL

is it ok to run some race fuel thru my truck, any benefits? will it help keep things clean in the motor and fuel system? or is a waste of money, will it hurt anything? thanks

Unless you really need the octane (very high compression, etc.), I'd say you would be just wasting money.

He's right. You'd be throwing money away. Not enough compression and the ecu wouldn't be able to adjust the timing enough to make it work.

High compression, blower or turbo can use 100+ octane but on a daily or mild stocker as mentioned its a waste.

As far as keeping the fuel system clean, seafoam is the only way to go. You can buy it at your local Oreillys. You can also pour it into your oil to eat up the carbon that might have built up in the motor. If you do put it in your oil, don't drive it more than a couple hours before you cahnge your oil cuz the carbon it breaks up will plug up your oil filter.

Fill up at a quality station(no small or "ma and pa" stations).

If you see a fuel truck refilling that stations fuel tanks avoid getting fuel for a couple days and let the sediment in their tanks settle.

Don't let your tank drop below half. The gas in your tank cools the fuel pump so if you drop below half your pump works harder(lower head pressure) and gets warmer(not submerged). Rom was just mentioning this in a post not to long ago. Also would help not suck sediment from the bottom of your tank.

Fuel injector cleaner once in a while doesn't hurt either. I've read here on the forum to change up the brands so what one doesn't get the another one might.

That's a couple things I can think of that might help maximize the life of your pump and injectors.

EDIT: Of course do I always follow all of the above. Sure I do.[sm=bs.gif]
