Default True duals or cat-back?

Which is better? A true dual exhaust or a cat-back exhaust? I've heard good things and bad things about both and just can't decide which one is best. Tell me what you think!

If you want to keep as much low-end as possible you need to go with a catback. 3 inch single outlet Flowmaster or a 2.25 dual outlet. As far as a true dual, you will most likely have to buy 2 new cats or get the MIL to turn off your check engine light when a code is set because you don't have cats. True duals are better for your top end performance. True duals are also going to cost you more. If I was going to do that I would try to find some full length headers because you are going to have to build a custom set up anyway.

So for exhaust its best to have either one 3" outlet or if you're going with duals, two 2.25" outlets? Is there really a difference between like mabye dual 2.50" outlets?

Apart from the outlets, what about the pipes and the tips? Do they also have to be a matching 2.25" ?

Steve00Ram360 did alot of research about this some time back when he was still modding his 2000 ram. The set-up that he found that gave him the best balance between low-end and top end was dual 2.25 outlets. A single 3 inch outlet is essentialy the same flow and area as a 2.25 dual outlet set up. I liked the idea of dual outlets so I went with the 2.25's. As far as tips most of them aren't long enough to change the flow of your exhaust. I have 8 inch long stainless tips that are 3.5 diameter. I went with stainless because they wont rust like chrome, but I'm not really happy with how they look right now because they have kind of turned a yellow color.

Yeah I'm not sure the size of my outlets, but I know my tips are 16" long, 3" diameter, stainless also. Highly recommend stainless after seeing my buddy's tips rust completely and fall off while driving. Little never dull every now and then cleans em right up.
