Default Missing cap at base of windshield

Is it bad that one of my caps at the base of my windshield on the outside came loose? I still have it but the screw inside broke somehow and theres nothing for it to catch. Is there going to be water leaking somewhere it shouldn't be now that its gone? Heres a pic

anyone know where that hole goes through, like if it runs near the cab or more towards the front? I'll see if I can find something to plug it, I already have a leak inside the cab through the back window :/ don't need another.

i would say caulk it but you probally plan on finding a screw to fix it one day.. put a air gun up to the hole and blow it threw.. see where the air is coming out at. that should give you a pretty good idea

a few inches next to the hole is a vent that im pretty sure goes to the same place. that whole peice is like one big vent. I dont think it has much of a purpose other than for looks
