how much was the final price shipped of your TB from fastman? And are there any other companies that make good TBs? Only ones I see around here at fastman's.
Fastman's are the only ones worth buying. Thats why you only see them on here. All the others I've found start at 400 bucks and go up and the are only good for about 8 horsepower. The Fastman's are 250 bucks and worth 15-17 horsepower.

Thats not completely true. I know RM_Indy runs a Hughes Throttle Body. They have a pretty impressive write-up about theirs on their website about how much they actually flow. IIRC the reason theirs are so much more expensive because they custom machine everything all new, where I believe The Fastman bores the stock throttle body and installs new throttle plates and a new throttle shaft. Nothing wrong with either of them, I know I am going to go with the Fastman when I get mine because I like the price alot more and people here are having good luck with theirs. I know there is a guy who sells them on Ebay too, I don't know of anyone with one of his. I think Hughes and The Fastman are your best bet, unless you were confident you could do it yourself.

On my 5.2, my stock TB was 47mm on one end, coned out to 50mm on the other. Fastman bores out all that material so it is 50mm from top to bottom.

Whats the factory's reasoning behind a gradual increase?

I have no idea, but I am sure it is emissions/fuel economy related. Nothing they do seems to ever be performance related.

I noticed on fastman website on one of the pages it says if your paying $250 for a TB you're paying too much. Then I went to the TB's and its like $250 + $80 core or something? I wonder why it says that.

I think he meant if you're paying more than 250 you're paying too much.
