a friend of mine some how nocked the powr window and lock buttons down in the door panel. i assume i will have to take the door panel of to fix this ? how do these attach to the base snap in or what ? i need some help here thanks in advance.

 

the black part that they sit in should pop right out and then you can fish them up with something. just pry lighty with a screw driver. or just stick your finger through the hole and give it a light pull

 

sounds like your switch module is busted... if the bezel is still sitting flush with the door panel, then you'll have to pop up the bezel and replace it. I had a bad door lock switch and it cost me $10 bux from a wrecking yard for a replacement. took less than 2 minutes to swap it out.
