Anything is possible if you have the funds :-)

Your computer is different, tranny is going to be different more than likely (I'm assuming it's an auto). If you're tranny is different you'd more than likely have to swap driveshafts too. Your rearend should be good to go though.

Your best bet might be to find a donor truck at a bone yard that has the engine and all in it and just take what you need from that.

I prefer the 5.9L/360 Magnum. Pretty good power as is and lots of mods can be done to give it even more. The 5.2L/318 is a good engine too though.

Hope this helps.

if you do it, definately do the 360 over the 318..... its more power and basically no mpg difference.

heck if you have enough money build a stroker before you drop it in.

Swapping a 318 or 360 from a 2nd Gen Ram is gonna be the easiest and cheapest. You'll need the PCM for the exact engine and year your working with. Its totally doable and it'd be worth it. You have to have a good knowledge of wiring though unless you get an engine with the harness already attached and still hooked to the PCM.

I just got back from a trip for college where we started with a blank brand new 80 pin controller, programed it from scratch, put the 60+ wires in the correct pins on the controller, and wired the hole engine from scratch. It can be quite a chore if you don't know what your doing
