My nerf bars mounted by using two cab bolts (per side). On a BL truck, they would mount between the spacers and the cab. Don't see why it wouldn't work.
I guess you COULD mount them under the original frame tabs but I think that would look kinda goofy. My support straps bolted directly to the body, too (had to drill). They would be too short if the bars were mounted to the frame.

Look at my pics in the gallery. I have a 3" body lift and Westin bars.
I think it looks OK. The wife was happy that her step is not higher. She doesn't know that the new lift will be on in a month or so. I already have the 37" Baja Claws and she has yet to figure out why they are not already on the truck. I told her that I want to clean up the wheels and suspension first, and so far she is buying it. The only problem I could see other than ground clearance not changing is that a small kids foot could slip through the gap and hurt real bad if they fell.
