Is there any way to permanently lock it for good. The truck I bought had been broken into before and they unlocked the doors from the sliding window. Theres alot of truck thieves here in Houston.

I've owned my truck for nearly 5 years and tried to open the back window ONCE without any success! The windows didn't want to slide open and the latch looked like it would snapif pulled too hard.

If I had ordered the truck "new" from the dealer, I doubt I would have paid extra for the option. I really don't see much sense in a sliding window in a Quad Cab when you can't even reach it from the Driver's seat!

Yeah but someone could reach your power locks with a broomstick if they did get it open. It doesnt seem like its that hard to punch through the middle with a screwdriver and them just slide them apart.

Hey, if someone wants my truck that bad, they can have it. That's why Ikeep full-coverage insurance on it. I've had vehicles broken into before and my first reaction is being pissed off, then I call my Agent and receive compensation within a few days.....life goes on....

Let's face it folks, even though most of us "love" our trucks, there are a lot of more tempting vehicles out there for the thieves to steal.

Just got my truck back from the shop today, it was stolen last week, thieves got in through the sliding glass. Mine was the 14th Ram in as many days, they got another right around the corner from me 2 days later.

****ty..there about as easy to break in through the door too (thow i wobt post a how for everyone ro read) lets just say somone who knows how will take about 2 seconds to unlock the door, mine was broken into this way but the alarm scared them off that weekend i built aluminum plates to go inside the door to prevent this type of break in as well as my full bar rack blocking access to the rear slider

remind me...im gonna do a how to on how to put plates in the doors take them apart next (honestley plywood would work too and youll never see it)

Old thread, but I'm sure guys are still breaking those cheap window latches. If you have access to a 3D printer just have someone design up a latch and print it out. Here is what I designed. Waiting to get it back from a buddy that was able to print it out for me.

I've bought ones to replace my latch, replace it and broke it the same day. I go so fed up with it i got a piece of steel, drilled four holes in it and shut it for good. I can always roll down my side windows lol.
