Default 98 ram Heater???

hey guys ive already posted this once but i never seen it come up? i have a 98 ram with a 318 with about 220,000. i can warm my truck up as long as i want but my heater is not getting hot, it gets slightly warm but not a heater at all. i though my heater core but nothing is leaking into the floor?? i guess it could still be a croe though. also with my rpms up a little bit sounds like i can hear every now and then a bubble like sound coming from that area? any help would be appreciated, winter is coming and i dont feel like freezing all winter again. thanks alot guys!!

Did you check and/or change your thermostat?

Sounds like maybe your heater core is plugged some. Remove both lines from the heater core and flush it out and see if you get anything out of it. With the bubble like sound you are hearing it could be the water going in at less then normal rate which would also make it cooler.

Get ready for some work. Not everything in life is easy. You may just have to replace the hoses, because they won't want to come off of the header core outlets without a fight. Sounds like you'll have to remove the heater core itself so you can see if it's plugged.

You stated that you had changed the thermostat. Did you reinstall/intall the new unit properly?

If you can disconnect both hoses from the firewall I would just use a garden hose and flush water through the reverse direction of normal. If you can put a clean bucket down to catch what comes out and you can see if anything comes out that could have been causing a problem.
