Default trans shifting

hey guys im hearing alot about people doing band adjustment on your trannys, and im not to familiar with a dodge tranny??? i have a ram with a 5.2 and not sure if thay put diff trannysin them, its a 2 wheel drive and its got about 220,00 on it and it hasnt been rebuilt. it seems like it may be slipping a little bit but im not sure, and also if im getting on it a little it jerks back and forth a little like its having trouble shifting. maybe some of you haveseen this before, when im just driving regular it shifts smooth so i dont want to pull it and have it redone if i can do something simple and it will help. thanks alot

Crawl under it and adjust the bands, but at that mileage I wouldn't flush it. You should be able to find directions here or on the TDR or Diesel Truck Resource, or even a Chilton or something. It's really not hard. If you can work a torque wrench and a beer you should be ok. I did mine for the first time around 130k and it was like a new tranny. Get a filter and a few quarts of ATF4 and give it a try.

Now I beat the snot out of it religiously without concern.
