The spokes of my flexplate (close to the center) are rubbing on the transmission inspection cover. I have an '01 with an auto (duh) 360. Anyone hear of such a problem before? I can't believe these tolerances were so tight from the factory. All flexplate bolts are tight and the rubbing is equal all of the way around the flexplate.

Is this a common problem? Was the inspection cover ever redesigned? I suppose I could indent a bead where the rubbing occurs, but that would cause slight misalignment of the bolt holes. Any ideas?
