idling high
well i have a dodge ram 1500 with the 5.9 liter, after i drive it around and the truck is all warmed up to the regular temp ill stop and put it in park it will rev at 1500 rmps?? i can see if the motor is cold and it needs to warm up but its not. any ideas on the problem.

well when i start it up and the motor is still warm it will idle high and then go down... but it just seems like the only time that it idles high is after driving and you put it park it puzzles me but thanks for you input
Take some carb cleaner and spray it at the base of your throttle body. While this is unlikely the when the intake warms up it could cause the throttle body could flex and let air get past the gasket. If the idle changes when you spray the cleaner you know that it is leaking.
