Default Cleaning o2 sensors

did you guys know that you can clean your o2 sensors? Get a can of CRC electronic components cleaner from your auto parts store, yank out the o2's front & rear (if the rears apply to your truck) and spray the tips of the sensor thru the slots/holes that are there for the air to get in and be read by the sensor. dont be stingy with it either. once your done, let them air dry for about 5 minutes or so then re-install. This has worked everytime for me. I think it should be a 30k maint. item for those who wrench on their trucks.

this MAY clear cat in-effeciency codes that the pcm has set. worked on my wifes dakota.

Do you have to use "electronic parts cleaner" or can you use something nastier like carb cleaner?

That's sounds good, except every time I have ever removed an 02 sensor, I had to buy a new one because it gets stripped in the removal process. Just a word of warning/caution to anyone planning to try this.

About $65.

One thing to point out is that O2 sensors have a sensative coating on them, so caution should be used when cleaning them. I think carb cleaner would eat that coating right off.
