Default Cruise control

I have recently been experiencing a problem when trying to turn on my cruise control. I push the button and nothing happens. I keep pushing it and then it finally comes on. Anybody see that before???

I know this sounds assinine, but on my 95, I SWEAR TO GOD that the switches fill up with dust and the contacts get dirty. I rarely use my cruise but when I do, I would have to push, push, push, and finally get a response. Then it worked fine. Same with the passeneger window switch becuase I hardly ever have passengers.....lol.

Check the vacuum lines obviously. Hell, just check that you have enough vacuum to begin with. Check the integrity of the lines themselves.

Finally, and I have seen this NUMEROUS times, check the brake light switch. That switch will cause a lot problems. If the plunger detents are worn out, and the switch is "loose", the cruise will not engage, or it will, and then if you hit a bump, it will disengage. Sounds freaky but I swear that switch could be a problem. So couldn't the dust.

Just my experience and 1.5 cents......LOL....

Good luck.
