Default just finished 2" leveling kit

i just finished installing a 2"front leveling kit on my 98 2wd today. man what a pain in the a@@. i thought it was going to be well the directions made it look easy lets put it that way. every thing was great except the shock bolts. top & bottom would not budge had to cutt both sides off and demolished one shock so off i went to buy some new shocks and bolts. and then all was good. i would recomend to anyone that wants to do this to have new shocks installed before hand unless the truck is pretty new! anyway it was worth it my truck is now perfectly level. it could pass for a 4x4 and will after i putt some bigger tires on i will post some pics soon.

what kind of leveling kit was it? the guy that owned my truck before me put on one with a spacer on the coil and blocks in the rear. I wanna take it off, do you know how hard it is to take off the coil?

as i said the shocks bolts are the hardest thing about the job. you have to take the top ball joint bolt loose and the stabalizer bare bolt and the shock bolt. lower the whole control arm and take the spring and spacer out and you will have to replace the spacer with a stock one wich is just a flat one.

On my '01, I didn't even have to unbolt the top post of the shocks. I just unbolted the tower shock mount. I assume the 2wd shocks mount different than the 4x4 because of this.

Oh and to the guy wanting to remove the 2" leveling kit: Some of these trucks (not sure about all so I'll use the word some) came with blocks in the rear factory. If the truck looks like it sits level (IE no factory rake) then you can just remove the spacers over the coils and the front and be back to stock (after an alignment of course).
