Default remote for alarm

hi everyone, Im new in these forums. Had a question about the stock alarm on a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500. It works but im having a hell of a time figuring out which button is which and the damn thing keeps going off when I dont want it to. I posted a pic along with the post and if anyone can tell me which one is to arm and which is to disarm and also how to do both functions it would be greatly appreciated.

fair question, and ive tried...even followed the owners' manual..but it doesnt work the way they say. Both buttons unlock and lock the doors so its tough to say which one is which and i dont know which one or how many times to press each to set the alarm. I think I get it, and the alarm should be set and its not.If I knew what the buttons were I could start from there. Jesh am I asking too much here guys? Not to sound like a jerk

boy i hope i do, otherwise theres a siren sound coming from under the hood. I know it has an alarm because it has gone off. I simply need to know, which button is which on the remote....is the unlock on the right side and the lock on the left..or vise versa....theres gotta be a thousand people on this forum with the same remote. I just need to know which button is which, then I can start figuring it out by process of elimination. The remote they have in the owners' manual is completely different than mine so I can't go by that.

edit:maybe one button is unlock/lock and the other is for the alarm...see this is why I need to know!
