could i find any gains by flashing the stock pcm without having any mods? my truck is completely stock except for an intake. and exhaust from cat back. i will have headers in two weeks. my question is even if i didnt have those mods could i get any gains from just flashing the pcm to advance the timing and what not?

 

Not much I don't think, and you will probably struggle with pinging issues. B&G does have a few flashes that they say are for stock vehicles. I think they are mpg oriented though, not performance driven. For performance, you really need to have mods that increase air and fuel, then a flash that works with those mods.

Now, if your stock PCM has the death flash, then yes, a B&G flash will help.
