Well, this past weekend was opening of rifle season in S. Texas. Hunting wasn't to good, but the truck got a good workout. Picks of my hunting vehicle 2004 Yamaha Rhino 660 and the truck with my wife's and mine 4 wheelers on the trailer for the trip home! Pulled the rhino and the small trailer down loaded on the big trailer, and brought home the two 4 wheelers. When I haul all four of the 4 wheelers I put the 3 big ones on the trailer and my wifes in the bed. The ole dodge breathes hard but will run 65 fully loaded and still get 12.5 mpg. Jeff.

thats a sweet hood and 12.5 MPG thats really good we took mine up in the rocky mountains 3 weeks ago for deer and elk season and we got about 2 and half feet of snow at camp so drving through that was a blow because my truck was acting like a plow with all the snow but we ended up pulling 2 jeeps out so this truck still has *****. or maybe it was the tire chains?

Yeah, they'd make a cool toy I guess. Too freakin big for my taste. They might work well if you used them on a farm or ranch or something like that - but those things and 4-wheelers nowadays are getting so big you need darn near the same size road that you need to drive your truck down...........I like the "old school" 4x4 4 wheelers personally that were small enough you felt like you rode it - instead of it riding you. Can you imagine trying to right one of those rhinos by yourself if you flipped it???????

Actually, I can since my son did flip it. The rhino weighs in about 1000lbs. My son and I stood it back up, it wasn't as bad as I thought, but don't think one person could do it. You are right though about how big they are getting. My 650 is huge, but the this thing developes so much torque I can't see them putting that engine in a smaller machine. My wife's is a 250 2 wheel drive and it's a blast to ride. We opted not to get the sport models because they don't have any racks on em. When we go on long rides we like to be able to carry stuff. I use the rhino for hunting mostly but to be honest, it's not much bigger than my 650 A/C. Only about 10' longer and 3" wider. It will go just about anywhere the 4 wheelers go. Remember the rhino isn't the same size as the rangers and the mules or even the A/C prowler.

They are a lot of fun and there are many companies now making accessories for them. I just like to keep mine basicly stock. It's great for what I use it for, hunting, riding the ranch, moving deer blinds, and pulling the small trailer when needed. I used to use my truck for doing this stuff, but now that it's fixed up I won't drive it out in the pasture. Nothing ruins your attitude like mesquite limbs running down the side of your truck! The trailer that's attached is a 5x8 and is what I used to use to haul the rhino. Got the bigger trailer when I ended with five 4 wheelers. Jeff.

Thanks Mayfair, when I looked at my first 4 wheeler, I was sitting on it and I heard this voice say "you should buy it" I kept looking around to see where it came from? Took me a few minutes to realize it was my wife! She is the frugle one in our family and I just could not believe after 27 years together she was actually telling me to buy something like this. She does like to ride though and I do feel blessed that she enjoys it as much as I do. Ended up buying five 4 wheelers and the rhino in 3yrs. She didn't complain but I could tell I had reached the limit. So I sold my first one to my brother and there was peace again. She's a good woman and my favorite of all my toys Jeff.

 

Sounds like you have a good woman there! I wasn't slamming ya - I like all those toys too. I just can't believe how big they have all gotten lately. My wife likes to ride ours at the farm (350 Big Bear), but even it is too big for her to pick up or get unstuck by brute force. I had to put a winch on it after she called me at work wanting me to telepathically pick the thing up to get it off a log she high-centered it on
