Default "new to me" wheels

Bought some stock chrome wheels, to replace my stock alloys, off craigslist for $150 with center caps and lugs. The guy was telling me I could put a tire as big as a 285 on this rim...is that true?

I have 285's Mtr's on stock alloy 16x7 {which are the same size as your old and new wheels} and it works fine. Lots of guys run them. Im no expert but i wouldnt suggest going much if any bigger then a 285.....its already a 11ish in tire on a 7in rim, just dont go trying to corner like a sports car

So maybe a 275 maybe a more reasonable option seeing as how I like to corner like a sports car!

I got 285s on stock steel rims ... drive it pretty hard into corners, too. Have been for as long as I've owned it (coming up on 9 years now). Bigger tires = bigger footprint = better traction.
