Default whining

When im over 35 i get a slight whining that varies with speed, and not engine rpms. my girlfriend says she doesnt even hear it, but im pickey like that. its not a wind whistle, and its not the fan clutch cuz it has no variance in consistancy when rpms change, so im thinking wheel bearing? the pass side does have a tierod issue or something, because whenever i hit a bump it pulls hard to the right, so possibly there could be more damage up there.

check your front wheel bearing they will do that and also i have had to have my rear end regeared twice now that will also make a whinning noise but usually only on acceleration and not back pressure or only on the back side or coasting and not on acceleration if its gear wear whine but if your pinion bearing is going out it will whine all the time once it starts turnning say 35 miles an hour. any idea were the whine is coming from? if its a manual and the throwout bearing is going out that will make a whine also. ussually a frount wheel bearing you will now when its going out cause it will whine loud I had my drivers side replaced and then it went out again about 10,000 miles later and now the second one has lasted so I think I'm good.

I had a simular type of noise and shops were telling me it was everything from tires to u-joints. I finally found a shop that told me it was my front axle tube seal. They cleaned and lubed it up and noise went away. It might be worth checking into before you start digging into the more expensive stuff.
