This past weekend my 99 Dodge Ram 2500 V10 488 Engine froze up while towing. No warning other than a couple of clangs. Mechanic says a rod bearing went out. Now I am going to remove the engine this weekend. I can either take to a shop and have rebuilt or buy a crate engine. Has anyone had good luck with crate engines and can you recommend a source. I'm not finding much for that engine on the internet.
