RE: 99 2500 handling problems-different??
had this same problem on my 98 ram 2500, front felt loose, and would't recover from a turn, i had to fight it everytime to return to senter, sent it to the dealer they said the trac bar had excessive play, they replaced it and the problem went away, actually it still had a problem returning to center after a corner, but as time passed it worked it self out, feels fine now.

I'll bet a gonad on the Trac bar- old or new. My Ram has had 6 of 'em. Pop opinion is that the Moog is the best. Ive had the same prob for 10 years. I had looked into this exhaustively. The solution is to have a new trac bar fabbed - along with a frame-side receiver that will incorporate heim joints on both ends instead of the notoriously weak 'tie rod' style ball & socket. These trucks are simply too heavy for this style front end set up. I have an appointment for next week. My guy is going to fab a new tracbar with polyurethane bushings at both ends. I'm told I'll be able to shed my dual stabilizers (Rancho 5000's)when done. Granted, I have 200K on my truck, none of them easy miles, but this problem has been around since 40K. You'll notice Dodge went to a dual heim joint track bar for 2002 & up. That silly ball & socket is for a go-cart IMHO. You'll need one of those astronaut diapers if it gets to the point of death wobble :-)

Here's the DT Profab bar I installed MANY thousands of miles ago. As if it wasn't beefy enough ... they just released a Heavy Duty version (and upgrade for the original). http://www.dtprofab.com/DT_DODGE%201.htm
