Default Motor Pick???

Starting my search for another Ram 1500. This will be my second, first had the 5.2 and I was fairly pleased with the power. I am wondering if I would feel any noticable difference if I went to the 5.9 this time? Any problems I should watch for in any of the motors or trans choices?

Thanks!

I like the 5.9l's power but I hate the gas mileage. If you aren't towing then get a smaller engine...just not too small.

The concensus is that the 5.9 and 5.2 get very similar MPG around town and highway when not towing. I'd say go for the 5.9!

Ive owned a 91 dakota with a 318. When I bought a 98 ram quad cab, 5.9 was the only thing on my mind. Has just over 100,000 mileson it now.

Dakota weighs a little over 4000lbs. give or take a couple hundred lb.

Ram weighs around 5000lbs. in 2wd

What would you choose for a motor for the ram?
