I have a 96 ram with a 360 in it. I just bought it and it doesnt seem like it has as much power as it should(it cant even do a brake lock). Any thing that I can do to give it more power, but not spend alot of money?

 

first thing i would do is check the plenum gasket to see if its bad, if thats bad that will kill alot of horsepower. also look on the PCM to see if it has a sticker that says authorized computer reprogram or something alone those lines. heres the deal. the plenum gasket on the bottom of the intake manifold goes bad and sucks in oil and suck. makes the truck knock and run like crap. the dealer desided insted of fixing it they where going to reflash the computer ( this is know as death flash because it kills your power) to retard the timing to stop the knocking. the easiest way to remove deathflash is to get a programmer, either hypertech or superchips, and that will also give you a few added ponys. you can also buy a mopar performance PCM and get even more power but you'll be forced to run premium
