97 5.2 trans problem please help!
Hi, I recently bought a 97 ram single cab long bed with the 5.2 in it, and the check engine light was on. I need to get a new coil, o2 sensor, and the last code I cant figure out. Its code 37, and is either the torque converter clutch solenoid (CKT) and/or the trans temp sensor is too high or too low. The truck doesnt shift well into drive well and sometimes reverse. I have only driven it up the street from where I bought it to home, and knew about the problem from a buddy before I bought it off him. Im almost positive its the solenoid, which kragen said is called the automatic trans solenoid, they might be the same part, they might not. Has anyone encountered this problem before? I can find very little info on the web about it, and need to take care of it asap. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Is it the 5.2 diesel or gas?
Because if it's diesel Code 37 according to my Haynes manual is Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) solenoid circuit open or shorted. It is also, Transmission temperature sensor voltage sensor signal above or below acceptable voltage values.
