Default front coil springs vs. level lift?

Now that I've got my motor back together I'm back to pondering the front level lift. Like I've said before, if I put that 2"spacer on my truck the suspension becomes "modified" and my yearly inspection goes from $12 to $36. Being not a gearhead I was curious if I could somehow replace the coil springs with longer ones in order to get the same result? That way when inspection time comes Goober sees nothing but a "stock" front suspension and I get the $12 job.

Ya'll can commence to laughin'...........................

Default RE: front coil springs vs. level lift?

if you go to the top and look in the Dodge FAQ thread there is a link to a front spring chart. it has the 3/4 ton spring specs and you can pick what you like from the wrecking yard. I did this mod and gained about 2.5" of front lift. my springs cost me $25 bux used (obviously) and were a piece of cake to install. they are going to have a tag on them (dont remove for inpsection purposes) which will have the # of the spring IIRC...
