hey guys i am in the middle of adjusting my bands and came across a problem. I am adjusting the front band on the side of the tranny. I loosened the locknut, loosened the adjusting screw. But when i go to tighten the adjusting screw to 72 in/lbs the locknut will tighten before the adjuster tightens to 72 in/lbs. Even if i back the locknut as loose as it will go the adjuster will keep going until the locknut hits the tranny and tightens. Can anyone help with this?

 

Can you hold the locknut with a wrench while you're adjusting the screw?

 

or pull the locknut all the way off.

 

thanks for the help, i thought you could only back the locknut off so far but it was just stuck. Figured it out tho thanks again

 

How are you measuring inch pounds?

 

With an inch pound torque wrench. Do NOT use a foot pound wrench.
