Default Train Horns

Hey - Does anyone here have train horns in their truck? How do they sound? Where'd you put the compressor? I was lookin for air horns and saw these "train horns" that are apparently incredibly loud. Definitely something that would be cool to have lol.

i like you lol.

Train horns are beast, i heard one in of all things a crx. funniest thing i ever seen. i want some but they are rediculously expensive if you want real quality ones. wolo is the brand of my choice, their horn set is 400+400 for the tank and compressor, and then you gotta sit the tank in the bed and mount the horns on the engine side of the fender.

well worth it imo, if i had the cash.

Yea - The Wolo horns are really nice. I found a set on ebay that i was told sounded just as loud, and might be able to get the tank/compressor in the engine compartment, and the horns behind the middle of my front bumper. The set is made by Siege and apparently they make a pretty good product. The whole kit goes for like 300 bucks. I know about a year back my friend put a set in his ford for about 500 bucks, and those were ridiculous. You could hear him from a few miles haha. Definitely something cool to have in the truck! lol

I just went with regular ole Pep Boys air horns. Definately not a loud as train horns, but for 40 bucks, they work. Better than the stock horn that's for sure.

I don't have train horns but instead installed a set of Stebel
Nautilus air horns, rated at 139DB. I paid $40 for them.
Had to run some extra wire to get them hooked up but it
was no biggie.

I had some inattentive fool make a lane change in city
traffic, right in front of me last month. I hit the brakes
AND the horn button and barely missed him.

SUMMARY:
=======

Extra 16-ga. wire: $3.00

Air Horns: $40.00

Seeing that dork nearly snap his neck off after hearing
the air horns: PRICELE$$ [8D]

Yes, it is. I don't doubt that the guy ended up going to
a chiropractor. It DEFINITELY got his attention. You
can also install 2 or more of these on a vehicle. There
was a guy on Ebay that was selling them in pairs and
in sets of 3. Don't worry, I think one will suffice. At
$40, you can't lose.

Also, you can even run the factory horns with them.
BEEP! BEEEEP!!!

More info:
=======

This is still the Worlds Loudest 12 Volt Air Horn. Normal Big Rig Truck air horns put out 120 to 128dB loudness level and require big compressors and air storage tanks. The Train horns you see advertised for cars and trucks cost hundreds of dollars and require expensive compressors and air storage tanks, plus they need lots of room to install all that big equipment. Our Ultra Compact Extra Loud, 139 dB Ear Splitting Air Horns measure only 4 3/4" long x 4 3/4" tall x 3 1/2" wide and include everything you need to install them in one compact system. If you are tired of the tiny, "tinny" sound coming from your original equipment Beep Horn and want to make sure people are paying attention when you beep at them, then this is the horn for you. Compact size, Only 4 3/4" wide x 4 " high x 3 " deep, our horns fit easily on any 12 Volt Vehicle. Fits any MOTORCYCLE, CAR, TRUCK, VAN, SUV, ATV, MOTORHOME, RV or BOAT with easy installation to your existing horn mounting location. Use the one bolt mounting hardware included with the kit. Water and weather resistant. 1- Piece design is completely pre-wired and easy to install. No tubing to hook up, no separate compressors to install, its all included in this compact unit. Great sounding dual tone high/ Low sound just like the Big Rig Semi's. Rugged steel and high impact resistant plastic construction. Fits Great, Sounds Great, and Looks Great. Includes air compressor and twin tone air horns, all combined in one compact unit. Includes horn relay. Available in Black only.
