I was looking around under the hood and noticed 3 wiring harnesses that dont seem to go to anything. Does anybody have any idea what they might go to? The first picture is under the hood on the wiring harness for the under hood lamp. The second picture is on the passenger side inner fender wall. The third picture is behind the passenger headlight (you can see it just to the left of the lower headlight mounting bolt).

Does anybody have any ideas?

 

*This info coming from the 2001 service manual*
1) Ambient temperature sensor (used only with overhead counsole)
2) leak detection pump (used with certain emission packages, think California probably)
3) It looks to me like its got something attached to it.

 

cant really tell by those pictures, but ive got extra connections for all kinds of stuff. i know theres a couple for fog lights, and some other extra ones for stuff like cruise and ac.

the ones by your headlights are probably the fog light connections. and no idea what that is ont he hood.

 

1. If the first picture is for the ambient temperature sensor, then I should assume the truck is pre-wired for the digital overhead console setup because I dont have the digital overhead console?

2. Truck has federal emissions setup so I will have to take your word on this one.

3. I know its a bad picture angle but there is definitly nothing attached to this harness. I do have fog lights and the harness for that runs to a different location. I cant get a better picture without removing the passenger headlight assembly.

 

could be for plow conections ie lights and motor power

 

My 98 has the same thing.......
