remote starters
you have the option to wire it to receive a tach signal from the distributor so it will stop cranking the engine once it starts .The other option is tach-less,where the engine cranks over for a preset time.
i got mine through tweeter. i think its a clarion. i got it as a gift i think it was around $300. mine runs for 15 mins and then turns off. I saw the thing before it was installed. I wouldnt even attempt to install it myself. way too many wires. but i guess if your good at that sort of thing you could do it.
I've had a viper alarm/remote start for 3 years...works great no problems doesn't overcrank. One of the dodge forums has a diy for putting in an alarm...looks pretty involved. Just my .02
I too have a Viper alarm. I've had it for years and it works flawlessley. Unfortunately I need some sort of timer put on it to delay the remote start feature since I have a diesel. I'd like to get in touch with Viper to see if it is an add on accessory, or if I have to buy a whole new unit.
i was gonna have a professional (friend) install it. buy him lunch or something, hahah.
the more i look into these starters tho.......... i might just go with an air horn. we'll see. but THANX for all the input guys.
