Please help - where does this piece go??
I had a motorvac done the other day....
changed the oil today and noticed this piece circled in green was just hanging by a tie-wrap....

Can anyone show me a picture of where this piece goes? 1996 4x2, 5.9L, 202,000
thanks,
Chris

Looks to me like that was cut off from the line to the brake booster. Where is the line from the brake booster going, and how much of a bitch is it to stop your truck?

See that quick disconnect fitting right behind where that piece is - the piece in question goes over the fitting as a "safety net" to hold the fitting in place - I do believe.....

] After I read your post it all made sense. He's damned lucky the fuel line hasn't popped off. Man, was I way off base.
Yeah thats the clip to hold the fuel line to the fuel rail! [&:] That sits on there but theres another piece that snaps in to hold it all together. I wouldn't drive until you get that fixed. The fuel line could pop off, the engine would stall, but gas would continue to pour of the fuel line with the pump is on
just pop it back on. its not a big deal. i couldnt get my fuel line to disconnect with all of my weight without the retarded little plastic tool that costs $15.

Are you serious? I pinched the clip prongs together with my thumb and fore-finger of each hand and popped it out of place. Spent the $15 on beer.
thanks everyone!
