I'm doing a follow-up report to the question I asked earlier. I wish more of us would post a final report on what it took to repair the problems that we all seem to ask from time to time!

Last weekend I replaced the PS pump with a unit from a local salvage yard. I only paid $35 and the replacement pump is out of an older truck, but has less miles than my truck.

I had noticed a slight wandering feel after I installed a NEW steering damper, so I also adjusted the steering box while the PS pump was out ot the way. I flushed the system and replaced with fresh fluid too.

The steering is much easier to turn at slow speeds and turning the wheels while parked is also a little better too. The wandering has completely vanished and the steering is a lot more responsive on the road.
