Default steering wheel off center

well last night I hit a 2 foot pile of ice and snow on my passenger side tire and it felt like I did not hit it hard but anyways now my steering wheel is not centered its like im turning right when im really going straight (the dodge logo on the steering wheel is like at a 45 to 90 degree angle. so does anyone know what I can do to get it centered again?

P.S my alignment still is good.

Thanks Dan

Sorry but my first stop would be an alignment shop...... After I found out what 'slipped a notch'. My first wild guess would be the steering box.
Not much help but if things can slip enough to change the steering wheel position, please be careful. Your truck should be able to handle very rough terrain with no changes.

If you didn't damage your steer gear, then all you might need is to have the wheel recentered. Look underneath the truck and you can see 2 adjusting collars. One on the drag link between the pitman arm and the right spindle. The other is on the drivers side and connects the inner and outer tie rods. The ends of all those rods are threaded. That's how the toe in - toe out is adjusted. You might be able to see where the damage was done.

You could have also bent something as well. Sounds like to took a pretty good hit.

Good luck with your ride.

I had the same problem a good front end alignment shop can fix this pretty easily.
cost about 70 bucks though.
Remember if your steeringwheel is sitting like that your alignment is probably off even if it feels ok right now you will wear those tires out.

Yeah - something moved or bent. You need to have it checked out at an alignment shop. Steering problems are not good, and we like having all our forum members stay with us.......
