Oil Pressure
I am having an issue with my 96 Ram 1500. It has a 5.2 Liter V8 and it started acting up after I slid on some ice and hit a car.
It only bent the bumper and the fender and cracked a headlight but it looked like only body damage. However later on that day as I was driving it to the body shop to get an estimate my oil pressure started dropping and the oil light would come on every time the RPMs went above 2000 so I parked it. Now when I fire it up it will either have oil pressure or none. I checked the oil level and it is fine. It has a new oil pump in it as of 4 months ago so I do not imagine that being the issue but I am not dismissing it. Is there anything else that would cause this. I do not want to take it to a mechanic because of a loose wire to the sending unit or anything like that.
BTW it has 217,000 miles on it but they are mostly highway miles driving back and forth from work and school with some light towing and hauling every now and then.

i haven't really dug into my dodge since i bought it so i don't know where the oil cooler lines run. but you might want to check the radiator you should have some oil cooler lines running into one side or the other. makee sure one didn't get pinched or bent
