Default Tranny noise in reverse

I dont know if its the trans, but it seems to be. When i put the truck in reverse, it makes a whining noise during the duration its in reverse. What could that be?

This coupled with my prolonged 2-3 shift, i think im going to be looking at a rebuild sometime soon. What price should I expect to be paying for a rebuild on this trans? I dont think it could be as bad as my $2200 4r70w.

I think I know what you are talking about. Years ago I adjusted the bands on my transmission during a fluid change. After I adjusted them the whining noise started. To this day it has not stopped. (Now it is only in reverse when the noise starts.) Just a little tip. When shifting into reverse, shift it into neutral for a few seconds before shifting it into reverse. Mine does not whine when I do that.

sounds like a synchronization issue then.
