Default Tranny Oil Change

Hey all,

I just bought my 2001 Ram 1500 Sport. Actually my wife was the main reason for buying this truck. I love them but i think she LOVES the thing more then me..... Anyways... I am in the middle of changing all fluids/filters/plugs and wires.... I read a thread here that suggested when you change the tranny oil and filter to "adjust the band." What the heck does this mean, and how is it done?

Thank you for the help ALL !!

I'm not 100% sure if it was related but I did this band adjustment on my 94 at about 99,000 miles.....long story short, at 100,000 miles I was writing a check for $3500.00 for a tranny rebuild. Granted I should have left the adjustment to the pro's but it was running strong untill I f*d with it. Could have been a coincident but I'll leave any future tranny service to the pro's.

If your truck isn't slipping don't worry about the bands......
