I have a 2000 ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.2. I plan on changing the oil pump in the morning. I wanted to make sure there were no issues getting the oil pan off, as far as clearing everything. I was thinking I had read that they would clear without lifting the motor or moving the axle. Just wanted to make sure. I have had some oil pressure issues and still do after changing the sending unit today.

Sorry I missed your post last week.
To remove the oil pan on my 01 4X4 I have to pull one transmission brace, the transmisison dust shield, and the starter. Then my oil pan just unbolts and comes right out. The gasket is reusable. Not sure about how much room you have.
Also, be VERY careful with how you install the new oil pump. If you do not fully seat it into the block before tightening the bolts you will break the pump and again have very low or possibly even no oil pressure.
