Default Hmmm, exhaust

Hi all. Picked up my '98 Ram 1500, 5.2 yesterday. Planned on going dual exhaust, but, after some reading here found I'm probably better off leaving the single alone. Didn't realize that Dodges were so twitchy on exhaust, back pressure, etc. Guess I've got a lot to learn about my new toy. So I guess I'm looking for a good muffler that has a bit of a rumble on a single. Haven't measured the pipe size yet. Recommendations for a muffler for this? Thanks. Great forum here.

Well, took a quick look under my truck this afternoon. Didn't see an O2 sensor after the cat. Exhaust looks pretty basic to me. Cat and stock muffler. I'm in Canada so maybe emission specs weren't as tight from the factory as some U.S. states. I don't really care about the looks of the single vs. dual exhaust (I can always be cheap and stick a dual outlet tip on the single outlet pipe ;-), just want a rumble out of her and don't want to screw up my mileage and power. It has 237000 Kms on it nowso probably wouldn't hurt to change the cat anyway. Or, I have no problem punching out the cat, never get emission tested up here anyway.

Forget the cat, run true duals with twin cherry bombs.
