Default Thanks to 95ram

I have a 2000 1500 4X4 that I just bought. It had lots of play in the steering. I figured it was a tie rod end. After carefully checking all the compenents I found all the play was coming from the steering box. I did the adjustment that 95ram described in detail and now I got a new truck...lol. even after doing the adjustment (before I drove it),I figured I needed a new steering box because it seemed like the adjustment change was minimal or nill. I loaded up my 2yr old son and wife tonight and went out to dinner. After about 10 mins of driving my wife told me to shut up about the damn steering box... I guess I was so excited that adjusting it worked so well. I might even let her drive my Ram now...............what did I just say...? uh nevermind. Anyhow thanks alot 95ram for the info, it worked great.

Nate,

I'm glad it worked for you. It's surprising how often people spend money on new parts trying to improve the slop in theirsteeringwhen the steering box adjustment is the biggest contributor. Happy motoring!
