First of all I want to say hi to everyone here. I come from pirate4x4.com. I recently bought a 97 ram 1500 w/ 5.9
On the way home for christmas my speedo started going crazy, up and down type.
I replaced it on the way home in Colorado, had no problems for a few minutes, then the truck died in D.
I pulled over and started it again. The truck idled fine once I put it in gear, it would die instantly. I unpluged the sensor and it would do the same thing again. The only time the transmissin would work is when I unplugged the sensor and the O/D off.
Anyone know why the torque converter would lock up so quick and kill the truck?
I tore the transfercase apart and the gear on the output shaft looked good. What do you guys think!?
Any suggestions???
