Default RE: Tool Boxes

mine is a UWS aluminum diamond plate. std profile. deep, only sits about 4 in off bed, but holds a lot of crap. opens up from each side. i think i would prefer the single lid that hinges toward the cab. it would be easier to get stuff in and out. the only bad thing about it is that it covers the front stake holes in the bed, and it is too deep to slide back over the wheel wells. so to haul the canoes, i have to unload the tool box, pick it up and turn it sideways in the bed, so i can put my canoe racks in the stake holes. then put all the stuff back in the box. pita. i suppose they are all that way.

i recommend aluminum or steel. plastic breaks or warps or both.

i have a couple of rubbermaid containers about 8 inches deep, and two of them will stack inside the tool box. these work good to hold jumper cables, tow straps, tire patch, bungies, gloves, shackles, cables, duct tape, elec stuff, etc, etc. also carry chain, come-along, bottle jack, 4 way lug wrench, tool box, axe. hmmm, no wonder its so heavy.

I have a rubbermaid (I think) one, it was for a small pickup, my Mazda, so it fits in between the rails and sits down low below the tonno cover. It was like $99.

Those low profile ones are expensive. i'm trying to find one that will still allow me to use a latter rack and the space below it.

Well, if people wouldnt garbage posts like "i like it" or "it looks good" than the search function wouldnt be so painful. everyone is frigin lazy and that is the problem. they also want to increase post count to make themselves look cool.
Im not being an *******, Im trying to help these newbs use the features the site and the internet has to offer instead of asking the same fuking questions.

and you know what. this is a tech board. this forum lacks heavily on tech. thats why myself and a few other dont travel here much anymore. who the hell wants to fly through all of the "which tires?", "which rims", "what useless lund add on?".

So if the search function is used then there would actually be tech in this section, maybe

Yeah it is. But this isn't PavementSucks or Pirate4x4 so we don't have to be an *** hole when people ask questions. Cause quess what, every question is answered, and sometimes people just don't want to read through pages and pages until they find what they want, or random reviews saying "Yeah I like it" and want a little more detail.

P.S. Telling every newb on here to go search somewhere else doesn't make your ***** bigger, or make you any cooler. You can go back to high school and be a bully if you want though.

ok, i agree with both god ram it and socha. I mean yea we dont need to harass every newb that comes here but bill is also right, I mean open one catalog and you can see about 50 different styles. search first, then ask.

now as far as what socha was saying,i agree the being an *** thing is kinda dick, if you havent notice, yes pavementsucks and pirate have more "tech" and not stupid question, but tons of people are all butthurt sissys that bitch about every damn thing under the sun. both here and truckporn we all get along alot better.
